The first standard-training class attracted 52 people including scholars, experts, and entrepreneurs from 26 vocational colleges, scientific research institutions, and enterprises across the country to participate in the training.
Dr. Liu Zhenying said that as the secretariat unit of the BRICS Skills Standardization Working Committee and the secretariat unit of the Xiamen BRICS Technology and Skills Standardization Technical Committee, the BRICS Academy of Skills Development and Technology Innovation (Xiamen) is actively involved in the coordination and unification of standards among BRICS countries. Competition standards, skill standards and technical standard working groups have been established in areas such as information modeling to carry out standard formulation work. Invite senior experts from international standards, national standards, and BRICS regional standards to share standard-setting knowledge and cultivate standard-setting management and technical talents. Combined with Xiamen's local economic, technological, and cultural development, as well as the development trend of technology and skills standardization in BRICS countries, carry out research on standard development strategies, standardization systems, and standard information in key technical and skill fields; organize BRICS standardization exchange activities to promote the development of BRICS countries The standardization of specific industries will be connected to give out the "voice of China" and "the voice of Xiamen", allowing standards to "go global" with domestic products and realize "technology overseas".
Deputy Director Li Ming put forward three suggestions for the standard formulation work: First, focus on skill areas, prioritize breakthroughs, and form demonstrations. Director Zhang Yuping said that the BRICS Future Research Institute, as the unit responsible for the secretariat, should build the platform of the BRICS Technology and Skills Standardization Technical Committee on the basis of existing good work. Combined with the responsibilities of the BRICS Future Institute, we will build a BRICS standardization talent platform and improve the BRICS standardization expert resource base. Cooperate with relevant units and enterprises in Xiamen and carry out international standard cooperative research and exchange activities in conjunction with Xiamen's industrial development. We will continue to carry out training activities such as international lectures related to standardization content, and cooperate with Xiamen Standardization Research Institute, Electronic Standardization Research Institute and other units to help build the BRICS innovation base.
