The Discussion Meeting on the Working Draft of BRICS Group Standard for Competition, Skills and Curriculum Standards of Drone Operation was successfully held

On the evening of February 26, the discussion meeting on the working draft of BRICS Group Standard for competition, skills and curriculum standards of Drone Operation, organized by the BRICS Standardization Working Committee for Skills and Technology, Technical Committee 2 on BRICS Technology and Skills of Standardization Administration in Xiamen,China, the International Alliance of Skills Development; and hosted by E.C.R Academy and BRICS Academy of Skills Development and Technology Innovation (Xiamen) , was successfully held. The meeting, combining online and offline participation, attracted over 160 experts, scholars, and corporate representatives from China, Brazil, South Africa, Egypt, Iran, Indonesia, Ghana, and Pakistan, including 14 international experts.




The meeting focused on the consultation and discussion of the working draft of BRICS Group Standard for competition, skills and curriculum standards of Drone Operation, which were launched in 2024 and led by China to compile the BRICS group standards. The aim is to create technical and skill standards applicable to BRICS countries and Belt Road countries, and promote the connectivity and exchange between China's vocational education and the world.



Dr. Liu Zhenying, the chairperson of the China Section of BRICS Business Council Skills Development, Applied Technology and Innovation Working Group, the chairman of BRICS Standardization Working Committee for Skills and Technology (hereinafter referred to as BBC STIWG), attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Dr. Liu affirmed the importance of formulating the BRICS Group Standard for competition, skills and curriculum standards of Drone Operation. He stated that the China Section of BBC STIWG will continue to actively promote the formulation and revision of the BRICS Group Standards, using these standards as a guide to provide theoretical support for relevant outcomes. Dr. Liu also expressed gratitude to the international and Chinese experts present at the meeting.



He Yong as the executive dean of E.C.R Academy (E.C.R Academy as the lead unit of the project of the BRICS Group Standard for competition, skills and curriculum standards of Drone Operation), introduced to the attending experts the relevant work on the organization and development of the BRICS Group Standard for competition, skills and curriculum standards of Drone Operation. The competition standards are based on the World Skills Standard (WSSS), the skill standards are based on the National Occupational Standard Compilation Technical Regulations (2023 Edition), and the course standards are based on internationally recognized guidelines for integrated work and study course development. Through standardized management, the draft has been successfully completed and opinions from domestic and international experts have been solicited. It is hoped that the three group standards will be released as soon as possible.







The draft of BRICS Group Standard for competition, skills and curriculum standards of Drone Operation have received revision comments from experts at the School of Computer Science and Information Systems at North-West University in South Africa, the Advanced Mechatronic Technology Centre at Nelson Mandela University (NMU, Nelson Mandela University Advanced Mechanical and Electrical Technology Center), Dr. Marcio da Silva Arantes's team from Instituto SENAl de lnovacao em Sistemas in Brazil, experts from Kumasi Technical University in Ghana, as well as experts from multiple Chinese institutions and enterprises.

At the meeting, expert representative of the working draft of BRICS Group Standard for competition, skills and curriculum standards of Drone Operation from —— Shenzhen Institute of Information Technology, Yu Siqui; Wuhan City University, Yu Laibao; and Tianjin Modern Vocational and Technical College, Fu Yilei, respectively introduced the background, structural design, and writing process of the three standardsskills, courses, and competitionsand provided feedback on the collected opinions.






During the discussion session, Dr. Valerio Junior Piana, Internationalization Coordinator of SENAI Institutes of Innovation and Technology (Brazil's National Industrial Training Service) and member of the BRICS Standardization Working Committee for Skills and Technology; Marcelo Vivacqua, the President of ABIPIR (International Association of Inventors, Scientists, and Entrepreneurs) ; Dr. Marcio da Silva Arantes, from the Institute of Embedded Systems Innovation (Brazil's National Industrial Training Service) ; and Dr. Robson Sheeny, Dean of the BRICS Cooperation Hub and BRICS Academy (BRICS Cooperation Center and BRICS Academy). Also present were Associate Professor Jacob Jacobus Greeff from the School of Computer Science and Information Systems at North-West University in South Africa, who is a member of the BRICS Standardization Working Committee for Skills and Technology; Teboho Semmelink, the head of Go Digital, and her team of experts; The IBEKA Board of Directors, Ms.Tri Mumpuni lskandar and her team of experts from the Indonesian Research and Innovation Agency; Dr. Ata Jahangir Moshayed from Iran (Associate Professor at the School of Information Engineering, Jiangxi University of Science and Technology); Mr.Ihab Elshor from Egypt; and Mr.Mohsin Ali from Pakistan (Intellectual Property Expert at the China-BRICS New Era Sci-Tech Incubation Park, Comprehensive Service Center) among 14 international experts participated in the discussion. The experts who joined the discussion expressed their approval of the three standards developed by China and looked forward to deepening cooperation and exchange with Chinese vocational colleges and experts through standardization activities.


Finally, Li Ang, deputy director of E.C.R Academy, introduced to Chinese and foreign experts the follow-up arrangements for the formulation of the BRICS Group Standard for competition, skills and curriculum standards of Drone Operation.



The Chinese representatives attending the meeting mainly came from Shenzhen Institute of Information Technology, Yellow River Conservancy Technical College, Wuhan Urban Vocational College, Tianjin Modern Vocational and Technical College, Guangxi Transportation Vocational and Technical College, Guizhou Aerospace Vocational and Technical College, Ordos Vocational College, Xi'an Automotive Vocational University, Taizhou Technician College, Changxing Technician College, Zhengzhou Economic and Trade School, Guizhou Provincial Transportation School, Guangzhou Information Technology Vocational School, Hechi City Vocational Education Center in Guangxi, Xi' an Tianyi ZhiFei Technology Group Co., Ltd., E.C.R Academy and BRICS Academy of Skills Development and Technology Innovation (Xiamen) , among others.
