The Kick-off Meeting for Competition, Skills and Curriculum Standards of Internet of Things was held successfully

At 6 pm on September 30, the inaugural meeting of the drafting working group for the BRICS group standard "Internet of Things Competition", including competition, skills andcurriculum was successfully held, hosted by BRICS Skills and Technology Standardization Working Committee and organized by BRICS Academy of Skills Development and Technology Innovation(Xiamen)andBeijing Newland Era Hitech Co., Ltd. Nearly 90 experts, scholars, and industry and enterprise representatives in the field of Internet of Things from China, Russia, Brazil, South Africa, Iran, Egypt, Ghana, Indonesia, Nigeria and other countries gathered on-line to witness this important moment together.
Dr. Liu Zhenying, Chairman of China Chapter of BRICS Business Council Skills Development, Applied Technology and Innovation Working Group and Chairman of BRICS Skills and Technology Standardization Working Committee, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Dr. Liu affirmed the importance of formulating three group standards for competition, skills andcurriculum in the "Internet of Things" event, and pointed out that he hopes that all relevant units will actively participate in the formulation of BRICS group standards, strengthen exchanges and cooperation among BRICS countries, and cultivate more high-quality Internet of Things professionals.

In the next step of work, Newland will also give full play to the professional advantages and wisdom of the leader of the standard drafting working group, and conscientiously draft the group standards for the IoT event with a rigorous attitude, scientific methods and pragmatic style.

At the meeting, experts and scholars introduced and discussed the application and development prospects of Internet of Things technology at home and abroad, including Mr. Pavel Ratnikov,International relations deputy director of Skills Development Agency; Associate Professor Jacob Jacobus Greeff,Deputy Director for School of Computer Science and Infommation Systems at North-west University in South Africa and member of BRICS Skills and Technology Standardization Working Committee; Dr. Ata Jahangir Moshavedi from Iran, Associate Professor of the School of Information Engineering at Jiangxi University of Science and Technology; Mr. MamuduHamidu, formerdelegate for Ghana to the WorldSkills Organization and Lecturer at Kumasi Technical University in Ghana; Dr. Rio Nurtantyana,Researcher of the Research Center for Data and Information Sciences, Research Organization for Electronics and Informatics, National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Republic of Indonesia; Professor Shu Guohui,Dean and professor of the School of Information Technology of Anqing Vocational and Technical College, and Dr. Zhao Tianchi,Doctor of the School of Internet of Things Engineering, Jiangsu Vocational College of Information Technology etc. Theyallemphasized that the formulation of standards should fully consider the actual situation and needs of BRICS countries, focus on the cultivation of practical abilities, and align with international standards to ensure the advancement and versatility of these standards. Additionally, they will actively promote the development of standards and contribute to the cultivation of professional talents in the field of global Internet of Things.
